High-pressure aeroponics propagation delivers a precise, low volume of nutrient solution, maintaining a well-oxygenated environment for optimal propagation. This efficient approach operates by delivering a low-micron (50-100) mist within specialized aeroponic chambers to encourage rooting and plant growth.
This highly water-conservative approach grows strong, and healthy plant starts, taking less labor and time than substrate-based approaches like rockwool. Unlike Low-Pressure aeroponic systems that operate like lawn sprinklers, High-Pressure Aeroponics (HPA) is pressure-compensated and utilizes an intermittent irrigation cycle.

High Pressure Aeroponics Propagation For:
Seed Starting: Utilizing a peat-based, bio-degradable seedling plug, HPA systems provide extremely uniform diffusion throughout the chamber, maintaining seed plugs at an optimal air-to-water ratio.
Stem Cutting Propagation: This approach uses synthetic collars to hold the stem of the cutting during the 2-3 week rooting period. This process produces a bare root cutting, ideal for transplant into hydroponic applications. These soilless, barefoot cuttings can prove especially useful for operations that export their clones, as no medium is allowed to export clones to other countries.
Tissue Culture Acclimation: The HPA system is an extremely useful tool in the tissue culture process, providing an ideal condition for the final stages of development. TC labs typically transfer plantlets into a substrate like rockwool cubes or other medium, slowing progression. Alternatively, utilizing the biodegradable plugs, the HPA system provides an automated environment that makes this final stage much easier for the TC plantlet to grow into a more viable plant start.
Seed Starting – Using iHort, peat-based seed plugs or 1.5″ rockwool cubes, the HPA operates as an automated seed starting system. Evenly regulating moisture content in the plugs for high germination rates and growth after seed have sprouted.
Bare Root Cuttings – Utilizing single use neoprene collars, reusable Perma Clone Collars, or iHort plugs to stabilize stem cuttings, the HPA operates as an automated cutting system. Evenly dispersing mist through the chamber maintains optimal air-to-water ratios on the stem tissue, increasing callusing and promoting vigorous rooting.
